Ravelyn — strategic advisory practice Bangkok

Our Practice

Advisory Work Built Around
the Pace of Real Leadership Decisions

Ravelyn was founded to serve the specific needs of mid-sized Thai and regional businesses — companies large enough to carry real complexity, but where a single trusted external perspective can still make a meaningful difference.

Who We Are

A Practice Built from Fieldwork, Not Theory

Ravelyn opened its Bangkok office in 2018 after two of its founding advisors spent nearly a decade working inside — rather than alongside — mid-sized Thai companies in manufacturing, distribution, and professional services. What they found, consistently, was that leadership teams had sharper instincts about their challenges than they were given credit for. What was often missing was time, structure, and an outside party willing to ask the same question a second or third time.

The practice was built around that observation. Our engagements are structured, bounded in time, and designed to produce a written record rather than a relationship dependency. We work on strategy and operations — direction and how a company is organised to pursue it — and we stay in our lane.

Seven years on, the practice has worked with companies across Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and the Eastern Seaboard, in sectors ranging from logistics and light manufacturing to financial services and family-owned retail groups. The work varies in its details, but the method stays consistent.

Our Mission

Clear Thinking, Carefully Shared

Direction Before Method

We believe that most operational problems have a strategic cause. We start with questions of direction and position before working on how the organisation is structured to deliver.

Written Over Verbal

Every engagement ends with a written document. The act of committing an analysis to paper forces precision, and it gives clients something to return to and share with their boards or successors.

Honest About Scope

We do not take on work that falls outside our expertise, and we tell clients when they need a specialist — in legal, financial, or technical areas — rather than attempting to cover everything ourselves.

Professional Standards

How We Manage the Work

Advisory relationships are built on discretion and reliability. These are the standards we hold ourselves to on every engagement.

Confidentiality Protocol

All engagement materials, client documents, and internal information are held in confidence. We do not reference client names in case studies without prior written agreement.

Defined Deliverables

Every engagement is scoped in writing before it begins. Deliverables, timelines, and working assumptions are documented and agreed before the first session.

Conflict of Interest Checks

Before accepting a new engagement, we check for conflicts with current or recent clients in the same sector. We decline work where genuine conflicts exist.

Data Handling

Client documents are stored securely and returned or deleted at the close of an engagement, in line with the terms agreed at the outset. We comply with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act.

Feedback at Closure

At the end of every engagement we invite a direct conversation about what worked and what could have been done differently. This is not a survey — it is a short, candid exchange.

Independent Advice Only

We do not take commissions, referral fees, or third-party payments related to our recommendations. Our only financial interest is in the engagement fee agreed with the client.

About Our Work

Strategic Advisory for Companies That Are Already Moving

Most of the companies Ravelyn works with are not in difficulty. They are growing, or considering a change in direction, or managing a handover from one generation of leadership to the next. The question they are sitting with is not "are we failing?" but "are we heading in the right direction, and are we organised well enough to get there?"

That is a different kind of question, and it requires a different kind of conversation. It is not a diagnostic of failure. It is a structured examination of choices — about markets, about how the company allocates its time and attention, about which capabilities matter most over the coming three to five years.

Ravelyn's advisors bring direct experience of Thai and regional business conditions to that conversation. We understand the pressure that family-ownership structures place on succession planning. We have worked with companies navigating the transition from founder-led to professionally managed. We know how Thai corporate culture shapes the way decisions are actually made — as distinct from how an organisational chart might suggest they are made.

Our written deliverables are designed to be shared — with boards, with senior staff, or with incoming leaders. They are written to be understood by people who were not in the room when the analysis was done, and to remain useful after the advisory relationship has concluded.
